Frequently Asked Questions

After Arrival

Can I bring extra people after booking?

Since we have ammended our check-in procedure, we can not accept walk-ins or people being added at the time of the game. You can add players in advance, just give us a call and we can send an invoice for the added players.

What happens if I arrive late? / How long is each event?

You have 60 minutes to complete the tasks of each room. It is recommended that players arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the scheduled time for a short briefing to go over the rules of the game. Your time will start on the hour, if you arrive late you will lose that time to play your game. For example, if you arrive 5 minutes late, and it takes 10 minutes to sign waivers and go over the rules, you will only have 45 minutes to complete the room. No one will be granted entry after the group has started their game. There are no refunds for late arrivals, so please plan accordingly. UPDATE: With our new contactless entry, all waivers and rules should be completed before entering the building, but we still recommend arriving about 5-10 minutes early.

Booking

Do I need a reservation to enjoy an escape room experience?

Yes, a reservation is necessary. We are open by appointment only, so if you drop by, we may not be open. Players must book online and pay in full at the time of booking.

How far in advance should I make my reservation?

It is recommend that players book as far in advance as possible to ensure their desired date and time is available.

Can I cancel or reschedule my reservation?

Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable. However, if you need to reschedule in the event of an emergency, please call at least 24 hours in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
UPDATE: During this time of uncertainity with new Covid-19 restrictions, we are changing our policy so that if you feel unwell, or have come in contact with someone with symptoms, we can reschedule you for another time, even if it is past the 24 hour mark.

Do I have to sign the Waiver and Release of Liability in order to participate?

Yes. If you do not want to sign the waiver, then you cannot participate. The waiver is standard among escape rooms. It protects us from liability if someone should be injured during the game, explains that if anything should be damaged during the game we can charge for a replacement part, and gives us permission to post your group photo on social media.

Can I book the escape room for a corporate event?

Yes. We are happy to accommodate single room private experiences, multiple room events, and/or team competitions. Corporate events can even be held outside of regular business hours for an extra surcharge. Please contact us and we will be happy to arrange a personalized event for your group.

What if my group is larger than the rooms listed limit?

Recommended group sizes have been prepared based on the square footage of the room and puzzles involved. However, if your group is larger, we will consider requests for an additional 1-3 players, if the room can accommodate the same. Call us before booking and we can determine if it is possible.

Covid19 Changes

Do I need to wear a mask?

Yes, masks are requred for all guests and employees.

Is the room cleaned between games?

Yes. We have always cleaned our rooms between bookings, but we have made some changes to the room so we can now sanitize thoroughly after each group plays. While some of our changes may take a little bit of the immersion away from the game, we prefer to be safe during this time. -We spray down furniture, door knobs and games with disinfecting spray. -We have laminated all paper clues so they can also be sanitized. -There are air purifiers added to each escape room, filtering the air while you are playing the game.

Are the rooms private?

Yes, we have changed over to all private bookings. The group you arrive with will be the only ones in the room.

Are you open for walk-ins?

No, we are currently operating by appointment only. The hours on our website are our hours of availability and you can book on our website for up to one hour before game time. Once you book your game, you will receive a confirmation email with our new arrival instructions.

What are the new arrival instructions?

  1. Once you book your escape game you will get an email confirmation.
    • This email will contain a link to an electronic waiver. A separate waiver will need to be completed for each person coming to play.
    • We will also provide a link to our most recent "rules video". We ask that you watch this short video before your gaming experience.
    • There will be a teaser video for the room you have chosen.
  2. When you arrive, our door will be locked. You will need to call us at 443.330.6020 and your gamemaster will let you into the building.
  3. Your entire party will need to wear masks. You will not be admitted into the building without one on.
  4. Your gamemaster will take you directly to your chosen room and from there will present the room's instructions and backstory.
  5. Once the game is over (either time is up, or you escaped) we will take your picture and will be sure the lobby is clear for your departure.

What about social distancing?

We have implemented Contact Free Check-In, Private Rooms and Staggered Entry times to ensure that you will not encounter other groups.

  • Contact Free Check-In: Waivers will need to be signed before you arrive. When your entire party arrives, call 443.330.6020 and your gamemaster will let you in and take you directly to your room.
  • Private Rooms: Only your group will be in the room. The room is closed after a single booking.
  • Staggered Entry: We have extednded the time between games to allow a group to leave before the next is brought in.

General

Is it scary?

No. Escape rooms have themes and props to set a mood, but they are not haunted houses. So, while a room may be based on a horror theme (like Dracula) we aren't planning to have elements or effects in the rooms that would scare players. No one will be jumping out at you in any of our rooms.

Is the door actually locked?

No, players will be metaphorically “locked” in a room, and in order to fully enjoy the game it is recommended that players remain inside the room throughout the allotted time. However, for safety reasons the door is accessible throughout the game, and players may leave the room if necessary.

Do I need to wear or bring anything special?

Players should simply wear comfortable clothing. All you need to bring are your wits.
UPDATE: During this time, masks are required.

Is the location handicapped accessible?

Yes, our location is handicapped assessible, however we suggest calling before you book to verify that the room you are interested in will accommodate your groups needs.

Can children participate?

Participants must be at least 10 years of age. Infants and toddlers will not be allowed in the rooms. Children under the age of 16 must have a paying adult in the room. Anyone under the age of 18 must have the Waiver and Release of Liability form signed by their parent/legal guardian.

Playing the Game

What happens if we don’t escape in time? / Can we play the same room more than once?

Escape rooms are challenging, so many players get close, but do not escape in time. At the end of the allotted time, the game master will enter the room and you will have the opportunity to hear the final solution. If you choose not to hear the solution, you can come back and try again at a later date. Please keep the solutions confidential so you do not spoil the experience for future players.
